Stained Glass Projects
Below you'll find my stained glass projects, from ideas to execution.
In the beginning of my glass, I showed my designs to the studio owner and instructor, Dave, and he helped me search his shop for the matching glass that resembled the colors in my design. When we found the perfect glass sheets, we both freaked out and he looked at me and said- "take all the excitement in now and remember this moment," implying that it was about to get a lot more difficult from here.
When I approached the check-out counter with my glass sheets, the other store manager, Mary, pointed me to the odd sharpie markings on top right corner the glass, warning me that it would be higher price because it was antique glass. She then pointed out the bubbles, and the way they broke up the light beautifully- I immediately became weak and purchased it.
Little did I know, this would spark my obsession with antique, handblown glass. The restrained hues and niche colors, the bubble textures and varying gradients in the glass, you just can't find in manufactured glass. And honestly, no regrets at all.
Project 2, completed in second half the stained glass class.
Project 1, completed in first half of stained glass course.
